Pop singer Dana Simone, a soprano from New York, discovered her voice at a young age and has been delighting the public with her musical talent ever since. Apart from writing and recording her own compositions with lyrics comprising themes including hope, love, loss, intrigue, and regret; Dana is equally adept at performing cover songs of artists both past and present.
Exhibiting an immense passion for her craft, Dana has sung in the chorus of her high school as well as that of the local Girl Scouts (with whom she sang the National Anthem at Shea Stadium and Citi Field), and has performed at benefits, dinners, charities, children’s events, and shopping malls. Her talents include playing the guitar and piano, and in her spare time she enjoys fashion and crocheting.
An active member of SAG-AFTRA, Dana performs as a background actor and has had stand-in roles in a variety of films and TV shows. She has also performed on the local stage, including the lead in 2012 as Gertrude McFuzz in the Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty musical Seussical, and in productions of The King and I and Gypsy.
In 2011, Dana was the proud New York State winner of the annual National PTA Reflections contest for her musical composition “Together We Can”, and in July 2013 she took part in the IDA program (Inspire and Develop Artists) in Miami, Florida whose roster of mentors included renowned musicians Mark Hudson, Jon Secada, Rudy Perez, and David Frangioni. As a program participant, Dana co-wrote and recorded “Holding On” – currently available on iTunes.
In 2017, Dana entered Cove City Sound Studios in Glen Cove, NY, and working with producers Eren Cannata, Richie Cannata, and Marvin Welkowitz, recorded her original composition “That’s What It Means” – currently available on iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and numerous other stores.
In 2019, Dana returned to Cove City to record covers of “This Girl” and “If I Fell” (The Beatles), “The End of the World” (Skeeter Davis), “I Still Believe” (Brenda K. Starr), “I Only Want To Be With You” (Dusty Springfield), and “To Sir With Love” (Lulu). She also spent several months working with legendary recording artist Brenda K. Starr as well as performed at Brenda’s showcase of upcoming talent at The Bitter End in NYC.
Dana’s live set, in addition to the songs listed above, consists of covers of Pink, Ariana Grande, and Quarterflash, and 3-4 originals. Dana has a full backing band and self-contained sound system, and is available to perform at your venue for both track and band shows. Her growing social media presence includes over 12,000 Facebook and 2,000 Instagram Followers.
